Paul Martenstyn is a globally recognised and award winning trusted adviser to the world’s best leaders in law. With a track record spanning some thirty years at the top of the legal market, he is the go-to adviser for any global leader with a problem — advising on growth, strategy and performance at the highest levels of the disputes market. Paul spent twenty years at the UK Bar, holding a senior leadership position at the Magic Circle set Fountain Court Chambers. There, he cultivated and implemented what was at the time a groundbreaking — and award-winning — commercial strategy at the Bar, building enduring relationships with the world’s leading litigators and arbitration lawyers, and managing and coaching some of the best barristers in the world. His position in the market has been described as ‘market leading’ from the leading directories (Legal 500 and C&P) since 2006.

He then moved into litigation funding as a Managing Director with Fortress — the New York based power players in case funding — having now raised over half a billion dollars for case funding over the course of his career. He co-founded Prosperant just under seven years ago. Today, Prosperant strategically advises the world’s best legal leaders on growth and strategy, with a team of advisers spanning multiple jurisdictions, including the US, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong. Alongside this, Paul works as a performance coach to leading KC’s, senior partners and in two recent examples Supreme Court Judges in two different jurisdictions.

Paul is a recognised builder of the institutions that shape the London disputes market. He is one of the founders of RCAN, one of the original founders of the Young Public Lawyers’ Group (YPLG), one of the founders of London International Disputes Week (LIDW), and a current Executive Committee member of London Arbitration Week (LAW). Paul is a contributing editor of The Independent Bar, the market-leading textbook, and is regularly invited to speak on leadership on global platforms — a highlight being flown to Sydney to speak at the annual International Bar Association (IBA) conference. In recognition of his charitable services, Paul was awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours list. In 2026 he celebrates thirty years with Save the Children, where he has sat on international boards, served as the first Chair of the African Advisory Board, and raised £24 million to save children’s lives across Africa.
