In his role as General Counsel, Damien advises on a range of corporate, commercial and regulatory matters, as well as providing general strategic advice. With nearly 20 years in the industry, he is a versatile and experienced lawyer, with strong business acumen and negotiation skills, coupled with a proven track record providing sound, clear and practical legal advice.

Before joining Prosperant, Damien was a managing director at IHS Markit where he led a large global in-house team, supporting the business on a broad range of areas including M&A, corporate governance and commercial contracts. As general counsel to Markit’s financial services business, Damien played a key role on many of the firm’s key deals, including its IPO and subsequent mergers, as well as numerous complex alliances with strategic partners and the world’s largest financial institutions.

He also advised the boards and chaired oversight committees of a number of the firm’s regulated businesses.

Prior to this, Damien was a senior associate at BLP (now Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP) with a particular focus on M&A activity within the hotels, leisure and gaming industries.
